Hi, I’m Suzanne. I spent eight years as an elementary school teacher before starting my illustration business. During my time as a teacher, I gained a first hand view of a child’s unique perspective about the world. I left the education world and began my art career soon after my boys were born. I freelanced as a decorative artist for custom home builders and created one-of-a-kind murals for home owners. Listening to a child’s idea of their “dream room” and then helping to create it was a rewarding and fun experience. My creative path led me to selling my artwork online through my own website, as well as online retailers such as eBay and Etsy. My specialty was custom portraiture. I enjoyed collaborating with a client to achieve a loved one’s likeness.
My love of literature and my passion for creating drove me into the world of children’s illustration. I have spent the past few years developing my portfolio of work, and honing my skills as a children’s book illustrator. I’m excited to see where this new path takes me.
