About
As a native Texan, Suzanne now calls Boise, Idaho home. She has degrees in Education and English and spent eight years as an elementary school teacher before starting her illustration and art career. Suzanne enjoys learning and being creative through art and different mediums whether pencil/charcoal, oil, watercolor, ink or digital.
Her work has been featured in a collection of publications including Early American Life (for portraits), Prims magazine ( for silhouettes), Etsy (for illustration) and the SCBWI Utah/Southern Idaho newsletter (for illustration).
She has taken illustration and story writing courses through The Illustration Department, Anastasia Suen’s Intensive Picture Book Workshop, Storyteller Academy as well as the Society of Visual Storytelling (SVSLearn). As part of her desire to grow as an author and illustrator, she is an enthusiastic and involved member of several critique groups.
Having been “owned” and loved by two dogs and a cat in her adult life (a gerbil, a few hamsters, a fish or three, a bird, a turtle, as well as dogs growing up), Suzanne started painting pet portraits as a visual reminder of their personalities and joy they gave by loving them. Oil was the perfect medium for the heirloom style she wanted and now offers as custom pet portraits.
